Armed Man Died In An Exchange Of Gunfire With Guatemala National Civil Police

In an exchange of gunfire in Zone 19 of Guatemala City, the National Civil Police (PNC) repelled an attack by an armed man who injured two officers.

Yesterday, in the La Florida neighborhood, officers were alerted about an individual carrying a firearm in a local business. Upon arriving at the scene, the man identified as Widman Alfredo Sánchez, alias "El Diablo," began shooting at the officers, wounding two of them, who were immediately taken to a hospital. In the shootout, Sánchez died. The PNC seized a firearm at the scene.
