A 45-year-old man allegedly attempted suicide outside the office of district police chief in Shahjahanpur on Tuesday afternoon following a dispute with his business partner. Police said the victim, identified as Tahir Ali, set himself on fire by pouring petrol over his body, but the police in a prompt action extinguished the flames, and rushed him to the hospital. Ali suffered 40 per cent burn injuries and doctors said his condition to be stable.
